Watergate Bay is a spectacular golden sand beach stretching for over 2 miles along the rugged north Cornwall coast. At low tide, the vast sandy expanse is ideal for beach games, kite flying and long walks. Rockpools emerge at the beach’s edges, perfect for young explorers to discover marine life.
The beach is well-equipped with facilities including toilets, showers and a beachside café serving hot drinks and snacks. The Watergate Bay Hotel perched on the cliffs above offers fine dining with panoramic sea views. While busy in peak summer, the beach’s generous size means it rarely feels crowded. As the sun sinks towards the horizon, Watergate Bay transforms into one of Cornwall’s most captivating spots to watch the sunset paint the sky in vibrant hues – a magical end to a day beside the sea.
