Make this your year to make the most of Cornwall, by ticking off these ten must-do things in 2025.

It’s not a hotel. It’s not a self-catering apartment. It’s the best of both worlds: your own apartment by the sea with hotel-style facilities. The new SeaSpace is leading the way, with its Miami Beach meets Cornwall style studio apartments, where you can step out onto Newquay’s beaches, or stay in for superfoods and small plates, padel tennis and Pilates, swimming and gym-ing. These design-led apartments boast gob-smacking sea views, walk-in showers, all the tech you need to work away, high-spec kitchens and a self-service larder for when you’ve missed the shops.

This year sees the release of the much-anticipated film The Salt Path, a true story of one couple’s life-affirming walk along Britain’s South West coastline and the healing power of nature. Starring Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs, we’re still pretty sure that Cornwall’s seascapes will steal the limelight. We’re also sure that it will inspire plenty of followers to tread in Raynor Winn’s footsteps, so get ahead of the pack and plan your South West Coast Path pilgrimage before the release date in spring 2025.

Move over Boardmasters and full-throttle music festivals; there’s a new wave of festivals hitting the scene in Cornwall. And instead of partying your socks off all day and night, these are focussed on wellbeing in the great outdoors. Swap booze for breathwork, mayhem for mindfulness, and all-nighters for adventures at one of the well-being festivals spreading Zen to the party scene.

Newquay might be dubbed the UK’s surfing capital, but with a name like that it’s no surprise that the line-ups are crowded. So one of the top Cornish surf towns on our radar for 2025 is Bude. Riddled by waves, and home to a historic surf scene that’s as engrained as its kiss-me-quick beach holiday vibe, it’s our favourite spot to slink off to for a surfing weekend when the swell’s up. Read our guide to a surfing weekend in Bude and you’ll be rolling north up The Atlantic Highway with your board strapped to the roof before we can say, “surf’s up”.

Mobile saunas have been popping up on beaches all over Cornwall lately. And what a welcome sight they are indeed after chilly dip in the sea or a blustery beach walk. Originally invented as communal spaces for getting together, relaxing and cleansing in harsh Nordic winters, these little hot boxes are good for our health and becoming quite the way to socialise, too. So if you haven’t tried one yet, it’s time to feel the heat and reap the health benefits of a sauna by the sea.

Perched dramatically on the cliffs overlooking Porthcurno Bay, The Minack lures people from all over the world to its magnificent open-air amphitheatre where unscripted dolphins are often spotted in the backdrop of performances. If you live in Cornwall, don’t leave the Minack magic to the tourists, and if you’re visiting, don’t miss out. Come rain or shine, this is truly one of the most incredible places on earth to watch a play or live music under the stars, so book your seat for 2025 as soon as the season’s schedule comes out.
The rugged terrain of Bodmin Moor beckons walkers to scale Cornwall’s highest peaks and discover stone circles steeped in legend by day. By night, unhindered by light pollution, it’s a designated International Dark Sky Park. So put the myths of the Beast of Bodmin to rest, and go stargazing beneath the breathtaking night sky. With help of a guide you can learn to identify constellations, witness the Milky Way in all its glory, and appreciate the beauty of the universe.
