On select summer evenings, chef Adam Vasey lifts the hatch at this wild beach café to serve fiery post-surf feasts straight from the flat-top. Think Thai Caesar salad, dirty potatoes with red curry butter, and grilled greens with miso and ginger. No frills, just flavour and view.
Shine Beach Yoga
Lusty Glaze, Newquay
Stretch your body and synch your breath to the sound of the waves. We all need a little Zen in the summer chaos, and we’ll be finding ours on the shoreline. Every Tuesday and Thursday, surfer-yogi Jen Austin brings the good vibes to Lusty Glaze – think mellow movement, sea air, swooping gulls, and a playlist that feels like summer. Dare we share a secret beach? OK, just one. Hunkered between two quarries on the eastern edge of the Lizard, Leggan Cove is a hidden haven for sun-seekers. Ugly Butterfly 2.0
The Headland Hotel, Newquay
Adam Handling’s high-concept, low-waste restaurant is moving from St Ives to Newquay — where the Ugly Butterfly 2.0 will spread its wings above Fistral Beach. Expect Cornish seafood, fish & chips with Champagne, and the most decadent afternoon tea in Cornwall. Come for the knickerbocker glories, stay for the sea views. Opening July 9.

Not an event – a moment. When the sun tips west, this tucked-away cove turns molten gold. Pad along the white sands for a dip in the evening glass, then sit on the cliffs to soak it all in, slow down, and enjoy nature’s closing curtain. If you feel the chill, follow the coast path to C-Bay Café is perfect for food and drink.

Summer wellness means taking time out. Breathe. Strengthen. Sweat. Nurture. How? Escape to Melancoose: a unique spa and wellness venue hidden in peaceful woodlands just two miles from the coast. Switch busy beaches for countryside calm, and fill up on Middle Eastern flavours in a wildflower-strewn country park. Sabzi’s takeaway boxes brim with roasted local veg, whipped tahini, vibrant chutneys and Persian Love Cake — all inspired by founder Kate’s Iranian roots. Grab a takeaway box then wander the meadows of Pras Trewolek – 75 acres of rewilded farmland with walking trails, bird hides, and native cattle.
