TONER is an independent photography gallery, bookshop, and workshop space based on Chapel Street in Penzance, Cornwall. Run by creatives, the space was born out of a desire to build a community around image-making and self-publishing in the Southwest. As the new home of The Photocopy Club, TONER champions experimental photography and DIY culture through zines, exhibitions, and events.
Inside, you’ll find shelves lined with rare zines, independent photobooks, and handmade publications from emerging and established artists. Exhibitions rotate regularly, showcasing bold work by local talent and voices from the wider creative scene. TONER also hosts workshops, collaborative projects, and guest curations, all with a focus on accessibility, authenticity, and storytelling.
