About this business

Newquay Zoo is a charming, award-winning animal park nestled within the lush gardens of Trenance Park, offering an engaging day out for families and animal lovers alike. Home to over 130 rare and exciting creatures, including lynx, lemurs, meerkats, marmosets, and the critically endangered red pandas and Owston’s civets, the zoo brings you face-to-face with wildlife from around the world. Highlights include keeper talks and feeding sessions where you can learn fascinating facts about the animals, plus opportunities to meet and feed cheeky lemurs or friendly penguins. The Tropical House is a must-see, housing creepy crawlies, slithery snakes, and two-toed Hoffmann’s sloths who are adorably sleepy during the day.

Apart from the animals, the zoo’s beautifully landscaped outdoor spaces, like the Secret Garden and Oriental Garden, offer peaceful strolls with bursts of native and exotic plants, while the Gems of the Jungle free-flying bird exhibit lets you immerse yourself in a southeast Asian jungle atmosphere. The kids will love the Tarzan Trail and playground, perfect for burning off energy. With snack bars, picnic spots, and plenty of seating, it’s a relaxed yet lively experience suitable for all ages—a brilliant choice for a family day out full of discovery and fun.
