Little Prawn

Fresh catch, small plates, big flavour. Padstow's most exciting seafood kitchen in an intimate, atmospheric setting.

About this business

Little Prawn is the smaller, slightly more intimate sister to the much loved Prawn on the Lawn just across the road on Duke Street, and serves as both a seafood bar and a test kitchen for one of Padstow’s most exciting culinary outfits. The concept is gloriously simple: super fresh, sustainable small plates that change with the catch, the season, and the whim of the kitchen, served in a space that is small, atmospheric, and very easy to fall for. Think seared tuna, scallops, oysters from the Porthilly oyster beds just across the Camel estuary, fresh lobster, Cornish som tam and whole fish dishes that have been making diners genuinely speechless.

As a test kitchen, Little Prawn is also where new ideas get their first outing alongside the POTL classics, which makes every visit feel like a bit of an adventure. The parent restaurant has featured in the Michelin Guide every year since opening and won Best UK Seafood Restaurant, and Little Prawn carries that same uncompromising commitment to quality in a more relaxed, drop-in setting. Book ahead if you can, arrive hungry, and prepare to order far more than you planned to.
