It’s not the end of the summer holidays yet. Ditch that back to work feeling and enjoy the last blast of summer at these August Bank Holiday events in Cornwall.
23-25 August, St Agnes
Feel the beats of Cornwall’s best Aprés Sea events at Skybar. St Agnes is the home of this pop-up beach club that comes to stunning locations throughout the summer, and there’s nowhere better to turn up the heat after a day at the beach. Chill out with sundowner cocktails from cool airstream bars, and dance into the night with Mungo’s HiFi and Roni Size on Friday night, D.O.D on Saturday night and Craig Charles Funk & Soul on Sunday night.
22-25 August, Port Eliot
Port Eliot has long been home to one of Cornwall’s quirkiest festivals, where literary stars and rock stars mingle on the banks of the River Tamar. And while the ‘Port Eliot Festival’ had its last hurrah in 2019, what’s been re-invented as Tunes in The Park, bears an uncanny resemblance to its uber-cool predecessor, with a heady mix of live music, food and entertainment in a sprawling country estate. Think wild swimming and well-being fused with Paloma Faith and Ibiza Symphonica.

23-25 August, Lusty Glaze Beach
If you’re looking for a sporting event this August Bank Holiday, then get down to Lusty Glaze Beach to watch the Tag Rugby Tournament. A spectacular event that sees teams from all over the UK hit the beach in a high-octane knockout competition for all ages. Expect unusual costumes, gripping games, great food and drink and a fireworks finale.
24-26 August
After a six year break, the August Bank Holiday sees the return of the Bowgie Inn’s Ale & Cider Festival. Revel in the stunning cliff-top setting overlooking Crantock beach, sipping cask ales and ciders, while enjoying a family-friendly smorgasbord of food, tunes and entertainment. Hoping to smash a £50,000 fundraising target in support of Cornwall Hospice, this year the Bowgie is set to receive the biggest turnout in its history. Fingers crossed for sunshine on the terrace.
22-26 August, Wadebridge
Hit the streets and pubs of Wadebridge this August Bank Holiday for a four-day extravaganza of concerts, dancing, workshops, craft fairs and family events in the cool market town of Wadebridge. The line-up at one of Britain’s best small festivals includes over 60 local and global folk bands in venues throughout town, including the Smokin’ Pilchards, Lady Maisery and James Dixon. It’s up to you if you buy tickets to one event or the whole festival.
