Porthgwarra Beach

Porthgwarra Beach is a hidden gem tucked away on Cornwall’s rugged southwestern coast. This small sandy cove is framed by dramatic cliffs and accessed via a slipway cut through the rocks. The secluded location and crystal-clear turquoise waters make it a tranquil spot for swimming and snorkelling when conditions allow. The cove’s sheltered position makes it popular for sea kayaking and coasteering, though the lack of sand at high tide means it’s not ideal for sunbathing. Keen walkers will appreciate the spectacular coastal path leading to nearby attractions like Porthcurno Beach and the famous Minack Theatre.

Porthgwarra gained fame as a filming location for the hit TV series Poldark, showcasing its picturesque beauty to audiences worldwide. The beach’s unspoilt nature and off-the-beaten-track feel make it a favourite among locals looking to escape the crowds.
