About this Beach

Bossiney Cove is a hidden gem nestled along Cornwall’s dramatic north coast near Tintagel. This secluded sandy beach is framed by towering cliffs, creating a picturesque and sheltered cove that feels worlds away from the busier tourist spots. At high tide, the beach completely disappears beneath the waves, so visitors must time their trip carefully. The cove’s remoteness and tidal nature make it a peaceful retreat for those willing to make the effort to reach it.

Access to Bossiney Cove requires a steep descent down cliff-side steps, which can be challenging but adds to the sense of discovery upon reaching the beach. The crystal-clear turquoise waters are ideal for swimming and snorkelling on calm days, though there’s no lifeguard cover so caution is advised. While suitable for surfing experts, the cove offers excellent opportunities for rock pooling at low tide. Dogs are welcome year-round, making it a favourite spot for pet owners. There are no facilities directly on the beach, but a car park with public toilets can be found at the top of the cliff.

The South West Coast Path runs along the clifftops above Bossiney Cove, offering breathtaking coastal walks with panoramic sea views. For history buffs, the legendary Tintagel Castle is just a stone’s throw away. Whether you’re seeking a quiet sunbathing spot, a family adventure, or simply a place to soak in Cornwall’s natural beauty, Bossiney Cove delivers a truly magical seaside experience. Just remember to check the tide times and pack supplies for your visit to this unspoilt coastal haven.
